Isabella Alveberg discusses the future of city-building at Cityscape Global
How can cultural institutions and the public realm become catalysts for inclusive urban development?
At the upcoming Cityscape Global event, Snøhetta’s Group CEO Isabella Alveberg will join Jerry Inzerillo, Group CEO of Diriyah Company, in a conversation moderated by Jane Witherspoon about the future of city-building.
At Snøhetta, we believe that cities can thrive when they are centered around spaces that connect people—through art, learning, and public accessibility.

Isabella will share insights from Snøhetta’s work in Saudi Arabia, including the Royal Diriyah Opera House, now under construction.
Rooted in Najdi traditions and the surrounding desert landscape, the project reimagines cultural infrastructure as a cluster of buildings and a network of interconnected public spaces such as shaded gardens and walkable passages. The opera house includes several venues for artistic performance, and honors heritage while embracing modernity, creating a platform for future generations.
