Kjetil Trædal Thorsen In Dialogue with Nature
Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, Founding Partner of Snøhetta is invited to give a lecture titled "In Dialogue with Nature" at Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum (CAFA Art Museum) on June 12.
Thorsen will take the audience on a journey through the history and philosophy of Snøhetta, with a particular focus on sustainability, a foundational principle since the firm's inception. This evening sharing will be moderated by Pei Zhu, Founder of Studio Zhu Pei, Professor of the School of Architecture at Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). This event is hosted by the School of Architecture at CAFA and co-organized by the CAFA Art Museum.
Snøhetta was founded in Oslo, Norway, in 1989 first as an architectural and landscape collective. Since then, the practice has adhered to the belief that architecture and design can—and should—contribute to improving society and the environment, emphasizing human interaction and connection with both our natural and built surroundings. Given that the building industry accounts for nearly 40% of global carbon emissions, Thorsen believes that designers and architects need to take significant responsibility and that we have a great opportunity to drive the industry toward a greener transition.
The lecture is open to the public. More details of the registration portal.
