Robert Greenwood Speaks at Design Shanghai Global Design Conference
Robert Greenwood, Partner and Director for Asia Pacific at Snøhetta, is invited to speak at Global Design Conference by Design Shanghai on June 5. The Conference, themed "Design for Humanity", will discuss how we can re-design design, how we collaborate instead of compete, how we turn our efforts to the greater good; how we design ourselves – and what will always protect us from being taken over by the machines.
Robert's session, titled “Reading a Book Sitting Under a Tree: A New Vision for Libraries", will explore how Snøhetta design for humanity, with a case study on Beijing Library, and other libraries and social spaces that the firm has designed.
"Designing for humanity lies at the very core of our design philosophy at Snøhetta, as such, this principal is embodied in all our work. The experiential nature of architecture requires human interaction, and we can reinterpreted public space to be human space. The principal of designing for humanity can be applied on a multiple of scales; both from the wider urban scale and then zooming in to a macro and micro scale to include product and digital design. Our goal is designed for humans and designed to meet climate challenge." Says Robert Greenwood.
