Emily Yan to Lead a Series of Lectures in Seoul This March

We are pleased to announce that Emily Yan, Director at Snøhetta Studio Hong Kong (Asia Region), will deliver three lectures in Seoul this March, hosted respectively by the Korean Institute of Female Architects, Inha University, and Kookmin University.

For the lectures at the Korean Institute of Female Architects and Inha University, Emily will present her talk titled“Continuous State of Reinvention: Between Intuition and Algorithms.” The sharings will explore the evolving relationship between AI‑integrated design processes and the increasingly pivotal role of human intuition and creativity. Emily will discuss how designers can balance technological advancement with the irreplaceable value of human‑centered thinking, while tailoring the discussions to the current challenges and opportunities within the field.

As part of the sharing, Emily will also introduce Snøhetta’s transdisciplinary practice and share insights from several of our notable projects—including the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, and the Beijing Library—to illustrate how we approach social and environmental sustainability in the built environment.

At Kookmin University, Emily will deliver a dedicated lecture focused on the Busan Opera House, presented together with our partner Cundall. The session will offer a deeper look into the project’s design approach, technical strategies, and the interdisciplinary collaboration behind the work.

We look forward to meaningful exchanges with the architectural and academic communities in Seoul this March.
