Vertikal Nydalen nominated for the Construction Industry Innovation Award

The winner of the Byggenæringens Innovasjonspris will be announced at the Bygg Reis Deg trade fair in Lillestrøm on October 17. The award aims to highlight innovative companies, organizations, or teams that contribute to increased competitiveness and value creation in the Norwegian construction industry.

The jury writes the following about Vertikal Nydalen:

"Vertikal Nydalen challenges established truths in an industry that has long relied on mechanical solutions. Instead of traditional ventilation systems, fresh air circulates naturally in and out through façade vents that are automatically controlled based on weather and temperature. The result is simpler operation and lower energy consumption. But the innovation doesn’t stop there: the building sources heating and cooling from 300-meter-deep energy wells beneath Nydalen.

Combined with heavy concrete slabs and clay walls, heat and cold are efficiently stored within the structure, and the CO₂ footprint is more than halved compared to traditional buildings. Developed by Avantor, in collaboration with Snøhetta, Skanska, SINTEF, FutureBuilt, and several other partners."
