Creating a warmer atmosphere

Introduction

Hudøy Feriekoloni is a non-profit organization owned by the municipality of Oslo and run by Kirkens Bymisjon (Church City Mission). Hundreds of children gather in Isle Hudøy outside of Tjøme in Færder Municipality for summer camp each year.

The project's scope was to reconstruct the boathouse at the island, and create a new and inspiring place for the youth at the camp. The old boathouse offers both an overnight stop and a social arena for interacting with others in a more intimate and warmer atmosphere than the existing one.
