Beijing Library shortlisted for the RIBA International Award for Excellence 2026

We are excited to announce that Beijing Library has been shortlisted for the RIBA International Award for Excellence 2026.

Since opening in December 2023, the Beijing Library—where literary heritage seamlessly intertwines with cutting‑edge technology—has continued to energize the city with its remarkable cultural vitality. In 2025 alone, the library welcomed more than 2.81 million visitors and hosted over 4,000 reading‑focused programs, reaching an extraordinary 39.92 million participants.

Today, the Beijing Library stands as a true cultural landmark, shaping a new chapter of citywide reading and enriching the intellectual life of the capital.
